LalaPoolza 2008

Clive Pearse, Me, and Ikona

Alessas First Day of School

My Family Update

Frank and Shannon are doing fabulously. It is election year for Frank and if he wins this election he will then become the Mayor of Yucca Valley, which makes my step daughter, Shannon first lady of Yucca. How exciting for our entire family. The triplets, Reed, Nico, and Alessa are in school and loving every minute of it. Reed, has had his medical challenges, but comes out of them like a trooper and is a true campaigner for his dad. Nico is our little chatter box and loves to kareoke! Alessa, our little tumbler, walks more on her hands these days than her feet.

Ikona is now a Supervisor at a restaurant in Las Vegas and recently performed in LalaPoolooza in Palm Springs in which he was the HIGHLIGHT of the show. He met Greg Louganis, Olympic Champion Diver, and Clive Pears of Design to Sell on HGTV. He was very popular with not only the cast but the audience as well. He is constantly working out to perfect his body and has done some modeling which we are very proud of. We highly believe in his achievements and goals and support him!!! We have a great relationship with him and vice versa. He's our Ikonaona!

Jairus is a supervisor for a valet service in Las Vegas and likes his job. He is now playing flag football and is GREAT at it. He is the Quarterback, a new position since he was a former Fullback in his high school days. He's a good father and provider for his family. He is sensitive in his own way especially when he is concerned about his dad's health - Walt. He calls him consistently since Walt lives in Palm Springs during the week. He's our bupus!

Brina is working as a pre-school teacher in a local private school. She teaches Makana on a daily basis. She is a great teacher and has great ideas. She is currently attending school to receive her certificate to hopefully become a Director of a school some day. We are rooting for her. She loves her family to death and is the Coach for Jairus flag football team!!!

Makana will be 2 years old December 30th and he is just a joy to have around. He keeps everyone smiling and having a little one running around the house is such a GREAT joy. When I come home he RUNS to me with the biggest smile! He is learning to talk and loves music. I sit on the piano with him and he loves to play the piano. He is loves music and dancing. Brina will be putting him in polynesian dancing when he is old enough. He loves balls too, any kind of balls...and is great at throwing and kicking the ball just like his father!!!

Walt is busy as the Executive Director for an Aids Organization in Palm Springs. There is an annual black tie event called Evening Under the Stars which benefits the aids charity he works for. We had Barry Manilow, which he was absolutely wonderful, Mary Wilson of the original Supremes, and the Pink Martinis. Needless to say, he is one busy man. He also has been having some health problems mainly with his heart, but with proper medication and watching his diet he keeps it under control. He's a great grandfather to our four grandchildren and a great dad to Shannon, Ikona, and Jairus and has been a wonderful husband!

As for me - well, I travel 3 weeks out of the month as a Vice President of a cash access company within the casino industry. I absolutely love my job and the people I work with as well as meet throughout the U.S. and abroad. My travels have taken me to exotic places and not so exotic places, but none the less great people everywhere. I am also involved with the aids organization Walt works for as well as all HIV/AIDS organizations. I am a true advocate regarding HIV/AIDS. So, if you are as passionate as I am regarding the research and education of HIV/AIDS please donate or volunteer at your local HIV/AIDS organization and help those who need your assistance. This is no longer a disease that affects Gay or Lesbians! I also volunteer my time to speak at Gay Associated Youth organizations or any HIV/AIDS because I feel as a heterosexual, mother of three, grandmother of 4, and a sister whose brother passed away from HIV/AIDS my voice is important to be heard around the world in support of those who are Gay/Lesbian especially with HIV/AIDS.

I hope you enjoy my blog and welcome your comments whether negative or positive as I am a true believer that life is too short to eat the things you don't like, talk to people who you don't want to talk to, or live your life because others force you to. Be yourself...start a Bucket List and DO IT!
